Who I Work With

Hi, I’m Elana (LMSW).

I specialize in working with queer, trans, and gender-expansive individuals, at all stages of identity discovery. I enjoy working with people navigating their relationship to substances, people navigating the (in)justice system, and neurodivergent people learning to navigate a world that demands neurotypicality. I love working with fellow anti-zionist and liberationist Jewish folks, as well as all people struggling toward liberation while existing in the demise of empires. Above all, I love working with any person who is open to bringing their full self to therapy and committed to their healing both in and out of sessions.

I offer in-person and virtual therapy sessions for individuals in New York State. At this time, I am not in-network with any insurance.

My Approach to Therapy

My approach is relational and person-centered, grounded in the principles of abolition. I see my role as providing tools and guidance while respecting that individuals are the experts of their own needs, goals, and experiences. I often weave in modalities such as CBT, DBT skills, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, and psychodynamic therapy.

I aim to provide a space for people of varying and multiple identities to authentically explore themselves and reflect on the ways in which the world around us impacts their lives and wellbeing. Send me an email with your name and some times you're available for a 15 minute phone consultation so we can see if it's a good fit!

I am a licensed social worker (LMSW) in New York State. I received my MSW from Columbia School of Social Work.

I have a BA from American University in Sociology & Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies.

I am also RED CROSS BLS CERTIFIED
